We have been very busy in nursery settling our many new children in, which is going very well and making children aware of the routines of the nursery!
We are also looking at winter birds and the importance of feeding the birds!
We will also be touching on Chinese New Year next week!
We are working hard with the other nurseries in our cluster and have recognized that many parents would like to be involved in parent sessions. Although we have been doing this for many years i.e. first aid course, meeting concerning depression etc it was thought that we should get parents views of group activities you would be interested in. A questionnaire has been put together to get your views. I will be attending another meeting at the end of this month so I would be grateful if you could take the time to fill out the form and hand it back into me!
Our Eco committee have been working hard and we have applied for our bronze status. The eco committee will be posting a newsletter outside on the notice board so remember to have a look at it when passing! To help with our Eco quest it has been suggested that we send our monthly newsletter and any news about the nursery via e mail to save on paper. If you would be interested in nursery news being e mailed to you instead of paper format please fill in the slip attached with your e mail details.
Again, please can I ask that parents try when possible to park at Scotmid and walk down to nursery, many parents have commented on the dangers for them when walking down with another young child of cars passing them far to quickly—I would hate for there to be an accident coming down that hill one day!
We will starting to plant our vegetables again if anyone has bulbs or seeds at home that they will not be using please hand them in we will make good use of them!
The nursery will close on Friday 12th Feb at 11.30am for the February break and we will re open on Monday 22nd Feb.
Another reminder to please close the red gate when entering the nursery!
After the Feb week we will be having a ‘messy workshop’ at nursery for parents to come in and play! Also to find out about the benefits of play! Please watch for notice!!!
The committee have been working very hard raising much needs funds for the nursery—so far the Looney Dook has brought in just over £500 with more money still coming in.
Our next event is a sponsored walk in the spring of the year and we are going to host a social evening—hopefully a beetle drive so start sharpening the pencils!
The nursery have identified resources they would like to purchase and the money from the Looney Dook will fund this—look for a list of resources purchased on notice board!
Our next challenge is to fund a much needed new climbing frame (approx £800)!
Our next committee meeting is on Wednesday 24th Feb in the nursery at 7.30pm so feel free to come along! We will also be discussing out latest ideas for the Ferry Fair float!
